Nevada City, Calif. August 11, 2017 – Rüdiger Fan Club and Rüdiger Foundation announce the return of Golden Era’s Rüdiger Tuesday on August 15th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. This event supports Nevada City K9 Officer Rüdiger’s bi-weekly training.

Golden Era Cocktail Lounge, 309 Broad Street in Nevada City, hosts the fundraising event Rüdiger Tuesday. Proceeds from special Rüdiger inspired cocktails help support the Nevada City K9 Program. The Rüdiger cocktail and the Smoky Rüdiger cocktail are two of the best selling beverages on the Golden Era menu and Rüdiger Foundation receives $1 for every Rüdiger sold. All artisan cocktails and old-fashioned sodas on the regular Golden Era menu will be available for purchase, as well.

Rüdiger will be on hand to share stories of his impressive law enforcement career, and to encourage one and all to purchase tickets to his 2nd Annual Paw and Order Dinner being held at the Miner’s Foundry on September 22nd. Event details are available on his Rüdiger Fan Club Facebook page.

Rüdiger was born in the Czech Republic and purchased in 2015 through the generosity of the community. As a small town with budgetary constraints, Nevada City Police Department did not have the funds to support a K9 Officer. Understanding the value of a K9, both to community safety and the safety of our officers, the community raised and provided the necessary $71,000 to acquire and train the dog, and to purchase the specially equipped K9 vehicle.

The Nevada City K9 Program costs approximately $28,000 annually. This includes ongoing training as well as veterinary, food, kenneling, handler stipend, safety equipment, maintenance, upkeep and fuel on the special vehicle required to keep Rüdiger safe.

Rüdiger is 100% community funded. The community supports Rüdiger through fundraising events like Rüdiger Tuesday. Rüdiger Foundation was formed to provide ongoing support to the Nevada City K9 Program. 100% of all donations go to fund the local K9 program.
