September 27, 2018 – Sierra Wildlife Rescue is pleased to offer a series of three classes this fall/winter to train Baby Bird Nursery (BBN) volunteers and develop their skills. These classes are designed for both volunteers and shift leaders. Certificates will be given to people who complete all six hours of training, and manuals will be distributed for each class.
The first class will be held on October 6 and will cover BBN intake procedures and techniques. The second class, on November 10, will discuss medical procedures, medicines and diseases commonly seen in songbirds. The third class, January 12, will discuss the care, feeding and housing of specialty birds.
All classes will be taught jointly by Diane Ishimaru, Marty Owen and Judy Monestier and are on a Saturday, from 10 a.m. to Noon. Registration is required; please contact Barbara Barker at 621-2650 if you are interested.
