Clear skies cover the region early this morning. Most areas are seeing temperatures a little cooler compared to 24 hours ago as onshore gradients are slightly stronger. Profiler data indicate the marine layer is becoming more shallow, less than 1k ft deep now at Fort Ord, and IR difference imagery shows less extensive stratus along the coast and in the Bay Area.
The Dixie Fire in western Plumas County continues to show quite a bit of heat.
Little change expected the next couple of days as the weak trough lingers along the West Coast. Temperatures will remain close to average.
Modest warming is expected heading into the weekend as high pressure strengthens a bit and modified marine influence wanes inland, and highs will warm to a little above normal.

Upper level troughing continues across the PacNW on Sunday, with weak high pressure over interior NorCal. An upper level low located off the coast of southern CA then forms Monday into Tuesday, resulting in high pressure moving east of our area. Main impact of this will be the return of monsoon moisture which may lead to mountain thunderstorms Monday into mid-week. Otherwise, seasonal temperatures and locally breezy onshore winds continue each afternoon and evening.
