Fresno June Lightning Complex, (2 fires), Fresno-Kings Unit, Cal Fire. IMT 1 (Cal Fire Team 5). Three miles northeast of Navelencia, CA. Brush, grass and hardwood litter. Minimal fire behavior. Numerous structures threatened.

There was minimal fire activity throughout the day, fire crews continued to strengthen containment lines and work on extinguishing hot spots. Damage inspection is now complete and fire suppression repair will be ongoing. Utility crews continue to work within and around the fire’s perimeter. The complex consists of three large fires in Eastern Fresno County as well as several smaller fires. During the upcoming week, we will continue to see an increase in temperatures and low relative humidity which could contribute to increased fire activity. We ask that you continue to adhere to all traffic signs and drive safely throughout the fire area.

There was minimal fire activity throughout the night, fire crews continued to strengthen containment lines and work on extinguishing hot spots. Damage inspection is ongoing and 90% complete. Utility crews continue to work within and around the fire’s perimeter. The complex consists of three large fires in Eastern Fresno County as well as several smaller fires. Over the weekend, we will continue to see an increase in temperatures and low relative humidity which could contribute to increased fire activity. As Evacuation Orders and Warnings change, we ask that you continue to drive safely throughout the fire area.

Flash/Bolt Fire – Palomino & Elwood Rd, Wonder Valley area, 10,375 acres, 41% contained.

Hog Fire – Watts Valley & Hog Mt. Rd, 293 acres, 93% contained.

Strike Fire – 1 acre, 100% contained.

There was minimal fire activity throughout the day, fire crews continued to create containment lines. Utility crews continue to work within and around the fire’s perimeter. The complex consists of three large fires in Eastern Fresno County as well as several smaller fires. Over the next 72 hours, we will continue to see an increase in temperatures and low relative humidity which could contribute to increased fire activity.

Hog Fire – Watts Valley & Hog Mt. Rd, 293 acres, 80% contained.
Strike Fire – 1 acre, 100% contained.

Fire is impacting communication and power infrastructure.

The Red Cross has an evacuation shelter open at Reedley College (995 N Reed Ave, Reedley, CA 93654) for evacuees displaced by the Flash Fire & Bolt Fire in Fresno County. (People and small animals) Volunteers will provide safe shelter, water, meals & additional resources to individuals & small pets.

The complex consists of three large fires in Eastern Fresno County as well as several smaller fires. Over the next 72 hours, we will continue to see an increase in temperatures and low relative humidity which could contribute to increased fire activity. Firefighters continue to actively fight fire, and work on strengthening/improving containment lines. 

* The Flash Fire and Bolt Fire have merged as of this morning, but their size and containment will be noted separately below. 

Current fire updates:

Flash Fire – Kings Canyon & Cove Rd, 3,600 acres, 18% contained.

Bolt Fire – Palomino & Elwood Rd, Wonder Valley area, 5,358 acres, 18% contained. External Link

Fire is making significant runs, topography, and winds are influencing fire behavior.

Fire is impacting communication and power infrastructure.
