March 12, 2024 – We are all in this together. In response to many comments following our announcement that WorldFest will be moving to a new location and a new date, we’d like to make clear how much we value our relationship with the Nevada County Fairgrounds and honor their commitment in supporting us.
As times have changed in our post-covid world we recognize that not all things have stayed the same. In our efforts to have a successful WorldFest this year The Center for the Arts has made the decision to move our event away from the Nevada County Fairgrounds to a new location in 2024. The decision was not made lightly, and it is not a reflection of the Fairgrounds having done anything wrong, it is just a choice that has been made to keep our event vibrant and viable.
We value our relationship with the Fairgrounds and appreciate their collaborative efforts to help us build this event. While we are moving the festival this year, we are not opposed to later returning to the Fairgrounds. We appreciate that the work has been done over the years to accommodate our events and will continue to collaborate with the fairgrounds in the future.
All of us want world music to continue. Together we are working to continue presenting world music and bringing global diversity to the area.
WorldFest will take place in Oregon House at a private ranch on Oct 11-13. The announcement with full details will be Friday, March 15.
