AUBURN, Calif. — The Placer County Board of Supervisors took action Tuesday to appoint Amber Beckler to the Placer County Planning Commission, representing District 4.
Beckler lives in Granite Bay with her husband and cat. She works as a management consultant and as a part-time faculty member at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. She holds masterโs degrees in both business and geography and a bachelorโs in environmental management.
โAs a resident of Granite Bay for 14 years, watching the area grow made planning and conservation significant focal points of my energy and time commitments,โ Beckler said. โMy community service and professional experiences equip me to bring a broad and objective perspective to help us grow responsibly; with one eye on the past and the other on the future. It is an honor to serve District 4 and the county as a planning commissioner.โ
Beckler has served on a variety of boards and committees in Granite Bay, Roseville and for the greater Placer County community. She is currently a member of the Granite Bay Municipal Advisory Council, vice chair of the Placer Conservation Authority Advisory Committee, and a Placer County District 4 Fish & Game Commissioner.
โIt is with great pride that I announce the appointment of Amber Beckler to the District 4 seat on the Placer County Planning Commission. Amber has a long record of service to District 4 and to Placer County at large having served on the Granite Bay MAC, the Placer County Fish & Game Commission and the Placer Conservation Authority Advisory Committee,โ said District 4 Supervisor Suzanne Jones. โI have every confidence in her abilities and the people of Placer County can be certain that she will be a good steward and will work hard to protect the quality of life in Placer County.โ
The Planning Commission is composed of seven members, one from each of the five Placer County supervisorial districts and two at-large members. Beckler will represent District 4, which comprises Granite Bay and specific areas of the City of Roseville.
The Planning Commission is delegated to make certain land use decisions and also to advise the Board of Supervisors. It holds public hearings and makes recommendations to the board on legislative decisions, such as proposed general plans, studies, and zoning text amendments; and makes quasi-judicial decisions on major land development proposals; and encourages citizen leadership and participation in the planning process.
Beckler replaces Daniel Woodward, who served on the commission since 2021.
