See the beautiful draft horses at the 2024 Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair. Watch six amazing shows spread over four days featuring majestic draft horse performances, breathtaking competitions, along with non-stop entertainment in between classes. Between shows, you’ll have an opportunity to get up close to a draft horse.
This is all a part of the Annual Draft Horse Classic and Harvest Fair at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley. The Classic has grown to become the premier draft horse show in the western United States.
Admission to the Fairgrounds during the Draft Horse Classic & Harvest Fair is free. Tickets to the arena draft horse shows are available.
Thursday, September 19 – Sunday, September 22 – come for the Harvest Fair and stay for the Draft Horse Classic Show:
- Thursday gates open at 2 pm
- Friday gates open at 2 pm
- Saturday gates open at 8am
- Sunday gates open at 8am

Don’t miss Art at the Classic!
Art at the Classic is held during the annual Draft Horse Classic, which draws nearly 20,000 visitors to the Fairgrounds. Art at the Classic is an equine and Western art show that features impressive works of art in a dozen categories and more than 100 works by painters, sculptors, photographers, and other fine artists.

If you’re like Andrew and can’t get enough of Treat Street offerings – most of the booths will be open!
Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the barns and meet the horses, enjoy delicious food and beverages, shop from the many vendors selling wares, check out the art show and exhibits, or sit and enjoy musical entertainment. Activities are ongoing throughout the Draft Horse Classic.
