Nevada City, CA – William Eugene Ferris, 65, of Nevada City, was arrested on April 5 for an alleged child sex offense.
On the evening of April 5, the Nevada County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call that a child had been reportedly molested by Ferris that same day at his place of residency. Deputies and detectives of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) immediately went to the residence on the 19000 block of Lone Lobo Trail in Nevada City to investigate.
Through the course of the investigation, Ferris was arrested for alleged oral copulation with a child under the age of 10 years old – 288.7(B) PC. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility without incident. Detectives also sought a bail enhancement of $500,000, which was granted.
To protect the child involved in this case, their identity and affiliation to Ferris are being withheld. This case remains under investigation.
