Nevada City, Calif. – Tuesday, Nov. 4 is Election Day. On the ballot are Statewide Proposition 50 and Local Measure G (Truckee area).

Those who choose to return their ballots in the mail are urged to do so no later than Saturday, Nov. 1. “If you visit your local post office and you want to get that comfort of knowing your ballot was postmarked, go ahead and ask the postal clerk to postmark it in front of you,” said Registrar of Voters Armando Salud-Ambriz.

Voters may also return their ballots in drop boxes, at Vote Centers or can vote in person at the Vote Centers. Two Vote Centers opened on Saturday, Oct. 25, with seven additional centers opening on a staggered schedule beginning Saturday, Nov. 1. Ballot Processing Center drop box

Anyone interested in observing ballot processing is welcome at the County’s new Ballot Processing Center located at 12740 Loma Rica Drive Grass Valley. The center is processing ballots daily, generally from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. This includes sorting, verifying signatures and extracting and scanning ballots. For most up-to-date daily times, contact the Elections Office at 530-265-1298. Ballot tabulation will begin after 8 p.m. Election Night.

Election results will be posted Election Night after 8 p.m. and subsequently on Friday and Tuesday on www.NevadaCountyCa.gov/Elections until the count is finished. The earliest date the election can be certified is Dec. 2.
