Nevada City, Calif. – Nevada County’s Community Spay and Neuter Program is hosting a free clinic for cats on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in partnership with AnimalSave. The clinic is part of the County’s ongoing effort to promote animal welfare and reduce unwanted litters, helping ensure a healthier future for community cats.

“We’ve already provided over 100 free spay and neuter services in just the first few months of this pilot program. We know it’ll take time to see population changes at our shelter, but this is how we start making that long-term difference,” said Supervisor Lisa Swarthout.

The clinic is open to cats from unincorporated areas of Nevada County. There are approximately 25 slots available, and participation is first come, first served.

Residents can apply online at NevadaCountyCA.gov/SpayandNeuter. Approved applicants will be contacted directly by AnimalSave to confirm their appointment.
