It is with a heavy heart that the Grass Valley Fire Department announces the passing of Firefighter Joel Tracy.
Firefighter Tracy began his career in the early 1980s while working at the City of Grass Valley when he joined Grass Valley Fire Department Eagle Hose Company#2 as a firefighter. He quickly embraced the dedication and commitment of the volunteer fire service, serving for over 15 years.
Joel will be remembered for his meticulous attention to detail regardless of the situation as well as his exceptional character.
Firefighter Tracy will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A traditional bell ringing ceremony will be held in his honor on Friday December 12, 2025 at 1100 AM at the Race Street Fire Station.
