Foothills Compassionate Care invites the community to gather for an unforgettable afternoon of music, celebration, and heartfelt connection at Rhythm & Vine, a joyful, garden-style party set in the beautiful Sierra foothills.
Taking place on Friday, May 8 from 4:00–7:00 PM at the grounds of Rough & Ready Vineyards, this lively benefit brings neighbors, friends, and supporters together to celebrate the spirit of compassion that defines Nevada County. The event includes fresh, seasonal catering prepared by Christine and Chantal of Bouquet Garni, wine from 174 Winery, beer from Grass Valley Brewing Company, and non-alcoholic options sponsored by Gold Vibe Kombuchary.
Guests will enjoy live music from local favorite “Artemis & The Messengers.” Dancing among the vines, and the festive atmosphere of the big red barn surrounded by the natural beauty of the foothills promises guests a great evening.
“Artemis & The Messengers” have been delivering upbeat, engaging performances in Nevada County since the group’s inception in 2021. With a playlist that includes a mix of compelling originals, as well as rock and pop covers, their performance promises to add to the joyful atmosphere of the evening.
“Connecting with our local community through music is the reason we keep performing—and partnering with Foothills Compassionate Care gives that connection real purpose,” says Artemis Arthur. “Music has a way of bringing comfort, joy, and togetherness, and being part of this event means we’re not just playing music—we’re helping uplift a mission that truly matters in our community.”
More than just a party, Rhythm & Vine is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of the extraordinary care provided by Foothills Compassionate Care. As Nevada County’s nonprofit hospice provider, the organization offers vital services to hundreds of local families each year—including hospice and palliative care, grief support, and essential resources for caregivers. Local businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to support the event and sponsorships are available.
“The generosity from our community is something to celebrate,” says Heidi Wingo, Executive Director for Foothills Compassionate Care. “So many people are familiar with the services provided through Hospice of the Foothills but our scope of work includes so much more. We wanted to bring friends and neighbors together for an event that celebrates the part of our mission to embrace the joys of life.” Heidi adds, “Every ticket purchased helps ensure that compassionate, personalized care remains available to our neighbors when they need it most.”
