Two local cohousing communities are opening their doors to friends, neighbors, and the media during the National Cohousing Open House weekend on May 3rd.
Wolf Creek Lodge, 800 Freeman Lane in Grass Valley, will be welcoming visitors from 12-2PM, while Nevada City Cohousing, 200 Redbud Way, is open from 2 to 4 PM. We invite members of the media to stop by for a tour and to see all that we (and cohousing) have to offer!
โThis open house day is a great opportunity to see how our cohousing communities work,โ said Deanna Bloom, a resident of Wolf Creek Lodge.

About Cohousing
Cohousing clusters private homes around shared facilities to create intentionally collaborative neighborhoods. Each home provides traditional amenities, including a private kitchen, while also having access to common amenities. Cohousing offers a homeownership model where people can buy with traditional mortgages.
In cohousing, you know your neighbors and can share responsibilities like yard work, cooking meals, and even child care. Work is divided among members based on each personโs strengths and skills. Gardens and green spaces are collaboratively tended. Itโs easy to find someone in the spur of the moment when you need a ride to the doctor or want to go on a hike. By creating a culture that supports health, sustainability and connection, cohousing communities make it easy to live a more fulfilling life.
