NEVADA CITY, CA – Sierra Theatre Company is delighted to announce the upcoming production of Cinderella (Enchanted Edition), featuring the iconic score of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s timeless musical. This modernized version brings the storybook world delightfully to life July 16 – August 8 at the Nevada Theatre in downtown Nevada City.
Cinderella tells the beloved story of a young woman whose kindness, courage, and belief in possibility transform her world. Under the direction of Christi Colombo, this production honors the heart of the classic while creating a fresh visual world inspired by sketches and storybooks—like the pages of a drawing coming alive.
“My love for Cinderella goes all the way back to childhood,” says director Christi Colombo. “When the 1997 television version aired, it completely captivated me. For the first time, I saw a beloved classic musical presented in a modern way, and it opened up an entirely new world of possibilities. Seeing Brandy as Cinderella showed me that fairy tales could belong to everyone and that musicals could be both fresh and timeless.”
“What makes this production special is the way we blend the classic and the contemporary,” says Colombo, who is also choreographing the show. “The result is a Cinderella that feels both nostalgic and new, celebrating what audiences love about the original while speaking to a contemporary generation as well.”

Cinderella features Sierra Theatre Company newcomers Syreena Cain as Cinderella, Terry Martin as the Prince, Sarah Meyers as the Fairy Godmother, and Stephanie Raczkowski as the Queen. Audience favorites include Heidi Grass as the Step Mother, Robert Rushin and Vicki Colombo as the Step Sisters, and John Gardiner as the King, alongside a talented ensemble featuring Mackenzie Martin, Sarah Mugridge, Robbie Merchant, Casey Burke, Ken Miele, Haven Lackey, JJ Moquin, and Kelsey Jessup.
