Nevada City, Calif. – Nevada County Elections has assigned Measure M to the Pleasant Ridge Union School District bond measure for the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election ballot.
The ballot question will appear as follows:
To update local elementary and middle schools, replace leaky roofs and failing heating/cooling systems, improve student and school safety, weatherproof schools to avoid mold and dry rot, and qualify for matching funds from the State, shall Pleasant Ridge Union Elementary School District’s measure authorizing $19,800,000 in bonds, levying approximately $22.50 per $100,000 assessed value, generating on average $1,400,000, annually, while bonds are outstanding, with citizen oversight and audits, all funds staying local and none for administrator salaries, be adopted?
Measure M will require a 55% vote to pass. Voters within the Pleasant Ridge Union School District of Nevada County will see Measure M on their ballot.
Written arguments for and against Measure M are due to the Nevada County Elections Office by July 27, 2026. Public review will follow from July 28 through Aug. 6. Rebuttal arguments and the County’s impartial analysis are due next, with public review scheduled Aug. 8 through Aug. 17.
“We encourage voters to be informed and welcome them to engage in the process before they receive their ballot,” said Registrar of Voters Armando Salud-Ambriz. “Knowing which local measures will be on your ballot helps people be informed voters and gives them more time to review election materials before making their decisions.”
Additional ballot measures are expected to appear on the November ballot and their assigned letters will be announced over the next few weeks. Nevada County Elections will share each measure’s timeline as their letters are announced. Each measure will have its own timeline for arguments, public review and rebuttals.
