ROCKLIN, Calif. — In accordance with California Elections Code section 10516, the Placer County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar of Voters, Ryan Ronco, has announced that the nomination period for several offices up for election in November of 2026 has been extended because the incumbent failed to file candidate filing paperwork by the Aug. 7 deadline.

The following district seats have been deemed eligible for an extension of candidate filing:

Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can file candidate paperwork for the offices listed above (city offices excepted) at the Placer County Elections Office during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 3715 Atherton Road in Rocklin until 5 p.m. Aug. 12. Candidates can also access services at 2954 Richardson Drive in Auburn from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12. 

It is highly recommended that all prospective candidates make an appointment to file their candidacy paperwork at their preferred filing location by calling 1-800-824-8683, emailing candidates@placer.ca.gov or visiting https://www.placercountyelections.gov/candidate-filing.

The list of offices eligible for an extension of candidate filing in Placer County was current as of 8 p.m. Aug. 7. Shared county offices may not be current; the full list of candidates having filed paperwork for the November 3, 2026 General Election will be updated no later than Aug. 10.
