This year’s four-person scramble promises friendly competition, laughter, and a few “miracle putts” along the way. With $10,000 in Hole-in-One cash prizes, plus Hole-in-One giveaways like a Titleist Phantom X Putter, Bushnell Pro 3 Rangefinder, and Yeti Tundra 75 Cooler, there’s plenty of reason to bring your A-game.

Your $150 entry fee covers green fees, cart, range balls, lunch, swag, and prizes — and every dollar supports NCJCC’s work to expand educational and charitable programming that strengthens community connection. The NCJCC serves as a welcoming hub for Jewish life in Nevada County, offering holiday celebrations, family gatherings, adult education, and cultural events that bring people of all backgrounds together. Supporting the tournament helps sustain programs that foster learning, friendship, and shared values across the wider community.

Before he was known for his sermons, Rabbi David Azen was a junior golf champion in the New York tri-state area, winning the 15-and-under title and competing on the New Jersey State Championship team. He even took home the trophy at Toronto’s “Formaldehyde Open,” as he affectionately calls the Ontario Funeral Directors, Clergy, and Suppliers Golf Tournament! Now he’s challenging players for the Hole-in-One, closest-to-the-pin, and low foursome score.

Between swings, you might catch Rabbi Dave sharing his philosophy on golf — and life: “Each shot has its own unique needs. Like life, it takes focus, relaxation, and faith to send the ball where you want it to go. And if it doesn’t work out, there’s always the next shot.”
