A group of Sierra Gold Track Club members traveled to Westmont College in Montecito (Santa Barbara) last weeked. Their 80-84 quartet shattered a US Club record in the 4 x 800 meter relay. Frank Seman, George Husaruk, John Darlington and Al Shook broke the old record of 17 minutes 35 seconds with an astounding time of 16 minutes 28 seconds.

The 4 × 800 meter relay is a track and field relay event where a team of four runners each complete an 800-meter leg (two full laps around a standard 400-meter outdoor track), the equivalent of 2,624 ft each.
