Fire as been mapped at a 1/4 acre. Releasing excess resources.

IC declares the fire contained. Heavy mop-up operations are underway, resources will be committed to the fire for the next several hours.

Air Attack has been released from the Taylor Fire. Helicopter 514 will remain on scene for another 10 minutes before returning to Whitecloud. Mop-up operations are in progress.

Taylor IC requests only the 2 additional hand crews to continue in. They are making great progress, no other resources needed.

Taylor IC reports the fire is holding at 1/4 acre. One additional helicopter and one additional water tender requested to the fire. There is no immediate threat to structures, but please use caution in the area and watch for equipment on the roadways.

Per Mt. Howell lookout, smoke is up and down. Tankers have dropped several loads of retardant. Access to the canyon is difficult for ground resources.

The fire is burning at a slow rate of spread, in heavy timber. Access can be from either side, 3 engines to come in from the Placer County side, all other resources to come in from the Nevada County side. IC is requesting a total of 4 crews.

Report of a vegetation fire, 1/4 acre in heavy timber, no threat to structures. The fire is in the canyon near Dog Bar Road and Taylor Crossing Road. Air Attack is on their way, with numerous ground resources. This will be the Taylor incident.
Helicopter 514 is lifting off Whitecloud, en route to the fire now.
