Zone B-2 – An Evacuation Order has been issued for the area south of Butte Creek Rd. extending northeast to Long Hill Rd/39N08D, west of Spooner Rd., east of Hwy 139, and north of Termo Grasshopper Rd.

Critical fire weather is expected today, through the end of the week, with critically low afternoon humidities and potential for gusty winds.

The incident continues to burn in areas that include private residences as well as ranch and commercial operations. Several cultural and sensitive resources remain threatened.

Damage assessment teams have completed field inspections of the fire area and are compiling their reports.

As thunder cells continue to develop in the area and the potential for high winds, crew will focus on strengthening and building containment lines. Over the next 48 hours the potential for Red Flag conditions in the fire area may exist. There are sensitive resources that are threatened including the spotted Owl habitat. Damage Assessment Teams will contine to survey the fire area. Additional resources that have arrived will be assigned overnight to assist with continuous firefighting efforts. The potential for thunderstorms tomorrow could bring erratic fire behavior. Fire intensity has the potential to increase this afternoon with developing thunder cells that could cause erratic fire behavior. The incident is burning in areas with private residences, ranches and commercial operations including agriculture, livestock and timber. There are cultural resources that are threatened. There is still a threat of fires from previous lightning strikes.

Today, firefighters worked to construct direct and indirect fire line with the support of air resources. Fire intensity continues to increase in the late afternoon. Thunderstorms are likely again on Sunday through Monday.

The incident is burning in areas with private residences, ranches and commercial operations including agriculture, livestock and timber. There are cultural resources that are threatened.

There is still a threat of fires from previous lightning strikes. The Damage Inspection Team continued surveying the fire area, accounting for over 50% of structures in the fire area.

Gold Fire Incident Evacuation Updates – effective immediately

Zone A- The Zone A Evacuation Order will be reduced to an Evacuation Warning for all residents along Hwy 139 from Susanville Rd. (A-2) south to Termo Grasshopper Rd.

Hwy 139 will have escorts running from Mile Post Marker (MPM) 51 to Mile Post Marker (MPM) 55. Expect 30 minute delays.

Zone C- The Evacuation Order issued for the areas west of Hwy 139, south of Haydenhill Rd, east of Anderson Ranch Rd/Dixie Valley Rd and north of Long Flat Rd. has been reduced to an Evacuation Warning.

Due to increased firefighting activity and fire vehicle traffic, Highway 139 is now closed from Susanville Road (A2) to Termo Grasshopper Road. Civilian vehicles will not be allowed past law enforcement checkpoints.

Today Firefighters will continue aggressively and safely attack the Gold Fire. Multiple additional crews and engines from around the state arrived on in incident last night and will be joining the firefight today.

There is a Red Flag Warning in effect till 9pm today for thunderstorms and strong outflow of winds, which will increase the potential for additional ignitions in the area.

Fire burned actively overnight and made significant runs. There is a continued structure threat with evacuation orders and warnings in place.

Cultural lands, Commercial timberlands, and Willow Creek Campground is threatened. HWY 139 is open with traffic control in place with other road closures in the area. The Red Flag Warning remains in effect for the fire area.
