Final report: High temperatures, low humidity, and steep, rugged terrain continue to pose a challenge for firefighters as they make access to mop up the smokes identified on the steep slopes within the fire perimeter. Firefighters will continue to patrol the area until all identified hot spots are extinguished.

Although fire activity has decreased, thermal imaging of the fire detected heat in isolated islands of dense vegetation. Fire activity continues deep within the fire perimeter. Areas of unburned, brush periodically flare up creating visible columns of smoke. Resources are on site to mitigate any fire spread. Firefighters continue patrolling and mopping up hot spots and smoldering stump holes. Fire suppression repair is complete.

The Electra Fire is still an active fire. Continued hot, dry weather is forecasted for the remainder of the week with triple digit temperatures. The high temperatures and low relative humidity increase the likelihood of the smoldering islands of brush in the canyon to flare up and produce more smoke in area. CAL FIRE has resources at scene to mitigate the potential of fire from leaving the control lines. The areas where there is still active fire is deep within the fire perimeter.

Firefighters continue patrolling and mopping up hot spots and smoldering stump holes within the perimeter of the fire. Isolated islands of brush deep within the canyon continue to smolder, keeping firefighters busy in the steep, rugged terrain. Fire suppression repair is ongoing.

Temperatures reached above 100 degrees across the incident yesterday as firefighters continued mopping up hot spots and extinguishing smoldering stumps within the perimeter of the fire. Firefighters are making good progress on fire suppression repairs.

Amador County:
The area within the fire perimeter remains closed and under an evacuation order. Communities under evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings.
Calaveras County:

The Electra Fire activity was minimal overnight. Overall fire behavior was diminished due to the success of the firing operations that have burned out a few of the large remaining green pockets and islands.
Threats remain to structures with evacuation Orders and Warning remaining in place. Repopulation occurring where safe to do so. There is a threat to critical power and water infrastructure. CAL FIRE Team 3 is in command.

As Firefighters continue to strengthen and reinforce fire containment lines, previously unburned vegetation is expected to ignite and produce smoke. Residents will likely see increased smoke in the areas north of Robinson Ranch at the intersection of Highway 26 and Ponderosa Road.
While residents feel alarmed seeing the increased smoke in the area, the Electra Fire Incident Command Team does not anticipate any issues, and the Electra Incident has sufficient air and ground resources available to respond to any concerns that may arise.

Fire activity was minimal with isolated unburned vegetation that was primarily smoldering and creeping. Occasional uphill runs were observed when unburned fuels aligned with winds and topography. Steep and inaccessible terrain, dead timber from the Butte Fire and drought stressed vegetation is still a concern, but firefighters are working to strengthen and reinforce control lines and mop up where possible.

AMADOR COUNTY
Evacuation Update:
The Amador County Sheriff’s Office is removing the road closures at the intersections located at Tabeaud Road at Highway 88, Mt. Zion Road at Highway 88, Clinton Road at West Clinton Road, Upper Clinton Road at Butte Mountain Road.
The new road closures are located at the intersections of Tabeaud Road at Amador Lane, Tabeaud Road at Ponderosa Way, and Tabeaud Road is closed from East Clinton Road to Arrow Head Road. The areas north of these new road closures have been reduced to a warning.
The previous evacuation warning area on Highway 88 at Previtali Road, east to Hilltop Road has now been removed.

All other existing evacuation warnings and orders remain in effect.

CALAVERAS COUNTY
As of today, the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services has implemented Zonehaven for identifying evacuation order and warning zones. The below changes only affect areas outside of the Electra Fire burn scar.
Evacuation Update:
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is moving the road closure at the intersection of Hwy 26 and Buckeye Ln to east of Montgomery Ln. Mokelumne Hill
The evacuation order for all of Montgomery Ln and all residences off of Montgomery has been lifted. Zones 049-A, 050-A, 051-A, and 052B.
All other evacuation orders, evacuation warnings, and road closures remain unchanged in Calaveras County.

The Amador County Sheriff’s Office is removing the road closure at the intersection of Lower Clinton Road and Butte Mountain Road. The new road closure will be moved to the Upper Clinton Road and Butte Mountain intersection. All residents along Clinton Road and Butte Mountain Road within this area are clear to return home. The evacuation order for this area has been reduced to a warning.

There is continued threat to critical power infrastructure. Steep rugged terrain is making access challenging for fire crews in the South Fork of the Mokelumne River drainage, however firefighters continue to construct control lines. Approximately 100 recreational visitors and PG&E employees were safely evacuated from the Electra Powerhouse last night at approximately 9:30 p.m.
The control objectives are to keep the fire east of Hwy 49, south of Hwy 88, North of Jesus Maria Road and West Hwy 26 and Railroad Flat Road. CAL FIRE urges the public to adhere to evacuation warnings and orders and avoid the area to allow access to additional resources.
