Hot, dry and windy conditions are expected across much of the region through Tuesday. Fire and utility personnel continue mop up and suppression repair activities. They will remain in the area for some time. Please use caution when driving in the effected areas.

Mandatory evacuation orders remain in effect for certain areas that have been impacted by fire. However, the City of Santa Rosa and County of Sonoma have begun to allow residents to return and visit specific damaged and destroyed areas, this is known as controlled limited reentry. Residents must provide a form of ID for reentry.

Recent rain kept moisture over the fire area helping firefighters hold containment lines and perform mop up and suppression repair activities throughout the night. The Damage Inspection teams are continuing their assessments and the structure totals will be reflected as the teams confirm their findings.

The overnight cloud cover and cooler temperatures over the fire perimeter helped firefighters continue to hold and improve containment lines. There was minimal fire activity throughout the night allowing firefighters to perform mop up and suppression repair activities.

– Bennett Valley (includes everything east of the Santa Rosa city limits to Warner Springs Rd. and everything north of Sonoma Mtn. Rd. to Annadel State Park)

The County of Sonoma and the City of Santa Rosa have opened a Local Assistance Center (LAC) in partnership with FEMA and the California Office of Emergency Services (CalEOS), located at the Press Democrat building, 427 Mendocino Ave. between Ross and 5th Streets, Santa Rosa.

Fire activity increased overnight when winds pushed the south and west into the Sonoma Valley.

Overnight wind conditions pushed the fire in two directions towards the Oakmont community in Santa Rosa and areas northeast in the city of Sonoma. Moderate fire behavior increased overnight dues to the winds on the South and Western Portions of the fire.

The Southern LNU Complex is being managed in Unified Command by CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 3 and the Napa County Sheriff’s Department. The complex is made of the Atlas, Nuns and Partrick Fires. All three fires experienced fire growth as a result of anticipated wind conditions. Forecasts include a change in wind speed and direction in the days to come. A Red Flag Warning continues to exist over the fire area. Firefighters continue to take suppressive action and additional resources from across the state are enroute to provide assistance.

CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 3 has assumed Command of the Nuns and Partrick Fires, along with the Atlas Fire. These incidents have been combined as the Southern LNU Complex. These fires continue to burn in steep rugged terrain and heavy fuels. Currently winds are out of the Southwest. Weather forecasts predict winds to shift and come from the North in the coming days. Firefighters are strengthening control lines in preparation for this shift.
