Firefighters have shifted their focus to mop up and patrol of the fire perimeter and will remain committed through the weekend to ensure hot spots are extinguished and the threat of fire spread is mitigated. Suppression repair is continuing in conjunction with tribal experts to minimize long term impacts to the landscape and culturally significant sites.
The demobilization of firefighting resources continues as some firefighters prepare to move to other significant fires across the state. Residents are advised to watch for slow moving fire apparatus and firefighters operating in the area.
Today, at 10:00 AM, command of the Tulley Fire will transition from CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 3 to the Humboldt – Del Norte Unit of CAL FIRE. The Unit will provide further information on the incident from the Information Line at (707) 418-0411.

Firefighters made significant gains overnight. Containment lines were continued and strengthened while interior mop up extinguished smoldering material well inside the fire’s perimeter. Suppression related repair is occurring in conjunction with tribal experts to identify and minimize effects on the landscape and culturally significant sites.

Firefighters continued to make progress overnight. Containment lines continue to improve and interior mop up is occurring hundreds of feet inside the fire perimeter to ensure that hot spots are extinguished and rolling material does not escape containment lines. Suppression related repair is occurring in conjunction with tribal experts to identify effects on the landscape and culturally significant sites.
The demobilization of firefighting resources will continue throughout the day.

Crews are taking advantage of cooler temperatures and higher humidities that are expected to continue through the weekend. The demobilization of some resources will begin today as crews begin to focus on fire suppression repair. The Bureau of Indian Affairs would like to encourage anyone who witnesses, or has knowledge of an arson fire to call the WETIP Arson Hotline at 1(800)472-7766. Callers remain anonymous and rewards of up to $10,000 are offered for information that leads to the arrest of persons participating in arson activity.

Firefighters worked through the night reinforcing control lines and mopping up interior portions of the fire. Extending control lines was difficult due to the steep terrain and hazards presented by falling trees and rolling material.
Damage assessments have been completed. An additional residential structure has been discovered, raising the total number of structures destroyed by the Tulley Fire to three; two residential structures and one outbuilding.
Residents are advised to watch for slow moving fire apparatus, utilities vehicles and firefighters operating in the area.

Mandatory Evacuation Orders have been lifted.

Warnings: The areas formerly identified under a mandatory evacuation have been downgraded to evacuation warnings. Residents in warning areas should remain vigilant should the need arise to leave the area.
Overnight, firefighters continued to construct and strengthen control lines. The fire has moved across Cappell Creek and continues to burn in steep, rugged terrain with difficult access. Firefighters are surveying the fire area to confirm that acreage estimates are accurate. The current estimate may change, however firefighters are confident of containment estimates.
The evacuation center that had been established at the Hoopa Neighborhood Facilities has been closed by the Red Cross. Anyone needing assistance from the Red Cross can call 1(866) 272-2237

Fire is burning in heavy timber, slash and brush. Intense burning conditions have been encountered in an area that has not burned in over 30 years.
There is an evacuation order in effect for McKinnon Hill Road, Gibbens Road, Peters Lane, and Jack Ranch Lane. There is an evacuation warning in place for Lower Cappell Road.
Livestock can be evacuated to the Hoopa Rodeo Grounds. Dog kennels are available for canine evacuations. Contact Serene Hayden of Hoopa OES at 530-739-2259 to arrange.

The Tully Fire includes one large fire and two smaller fires in the Pecwan area and is still 0% contained. The fire is burning in steep, rugged terrain in heavy timber and slash. 1 residence and 1 outbuilding have been destroyed.
Evacuation warning in place for Gibbens Rd, Jack Ranch Rd and Peters Lane.
