Suppression repair efforts, fire line reinforcement, mop-up and patrol will continue. Cooler high temperatures are expected today and tomorrow. A slight increase in relative humidity and west winds will continue but with decreased strength.

Fire crews conducted direct fire line construction, mop-up, and patrol operations. Firefighters are working in cooperation with several utilities to secure damaged infrastructure and mitigate hazardous trees within the fire perimeter. Damage assessments are ongoing.

West winds will continue each day shifting to east winds at night into the morning. Low humidity expected with poor overnight recoveries. Warming temperatures this weekend, although smoke may limit these highs.

Damage assessment for structures has been completed. Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services requests residents and property owners utilize the Disaster Assistance Center listed below for address verification. A disaster assistance center will be open today, August 29, 2021 for residents affected by the fire or property owners needing address verification. The center will be open from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Fire crews conducted direct fire line construction, mop-up, and patrol operations today, that will continue through tonight. Challenges firefighters faced today included, working with limited resources due to several fires in the surrounding area, lack of aircraft support due to smoke and limited visibility and fatigue as several resources that are assigned to the fire have been actively fighting fire for over 48 hours.

Firefighters are working in cooperation with several utilities to secure damaged infrastructure and mitigate hazardous trees within the fire perimeter.

Firefighters are continuing to construct and strengthen direct fire line. Damage assessment for structures has begun and will continue today. Power remains out in portions of Sonora due to damaged powerlines. Warming temperatures with lowering humidity are expected today into the weekend. Wind will generally be upslope during the day, turning downslope at night. Locally gusty west wind is possible this afternoon.

The following areas will remain under the Evacuation Order: North Drive, Golf Links Road (between Highway 108 and Chabroullian), McKibbon Drive, Constance Lane, Mountain Vista Court, Circle Drive, Alley Drive, Golden Dove Lane, Silver Pine Drive, and Southgate Drive (where
the pavement ends).

Evacuation Warnings will remain in place in the surrounding area within a mile of the Evacuation Order zone.

Highway 108 is open in both directions. Chabroullian Lane from Highway 108 to Golf Links Road is open. Stockton Road is closed between Highway 108 and Foothills Café. Southgate Road will remain closed beyond the Tuolumne Utilities District gate. Golf Links Road will remain closed from Jamestown Road to Highway 108.
