Evacuation Center is being opened at the San Andreas Town Hall at 24 Church Hill Rd San Andreas. Red Cross will be staffing and can accommodate small domestic animals.
Peace Officers with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) Tuolumne – Calaveras Unit determined that a vehicle driving on Mountain Ranch Road, sparked several fires. These fires have so far ultimately burned approximately 450 acres of vegetation.
Renee Hogan was arrested by the California Highway Patrol at the eastern most fire, which also burned her vehicle. Hogan was initially arrested for violation of California Vehicle Code Section 23152(e), driving under the influence of drugs.
Peace Officers with CAL FIRE filed additional charges including one count of Penal Code Section 452(b) Unlawfully causing a fire which causes an inhabited structure to burn, seven counts of Penal Code Section 452(c) Unlawfully causing a fire of a structure or forestland and one count of Penal Code Section 454(a)(2) committing a violation of Penal Code Section 452 during a declared state of emergency.
