Katrina Paz has lived in Alta Sierra for 19 years. She has been active in the Pleasant Ridge School District since her son attended the district’s first transitional kindergarten class at Alta Sierra Elementary. She has worked as a classroom aide and worked in the front office at both Alta Sierra and Silver Springs High School, the latter as a student services specialist. She served as the president of the parent teacher committee and spearheaded numerous activities and fundraisers while overseeing the launch of several programs and a budget procuring integral supplies and services for students and teachers. Katrina also taught on-campus enrichment classes and coached soccer for several years and remains active as a volunteer at district schools, as well as Bear River High School. Katrina earned a Master’s in Social Work in 2021 and currently works for Nevada County Children’s Behavioral Health as a mental health therapist while earning her LCSW.
