Firefighters are holding the line at 22 acres and made good progress overnight despite challenging terrain to increase the containment to 42%. Firefighters are working on cooling the interior hotspots, strengthening the line with significant mop up today.

Firefighters remained on the fire throughout the night. No growth or spotting.

Tankers are reloading retardant at Grass Valley and make the short flight back to the fire. Tanker 117, a C-130, is arriving over the fire.

Helicopters are working to extinguish numerous spot fires. The fire is burning in brush and timber understory. Ground resources have to take a circuitous route to get to the fire.
