March 11, 2024 – Currently the American Civil Liberties Union is tracking 425 state laws attacking the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in the United States.  Among these laws are curriculum censorship in schools, redefinition of sex, health care barriers, and suppression of expression.  The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Nevada County Branch’s March 16th meeting program will feature a historical overview by Dr. Rhea Williamson and panel discussion offering multiple perspectives about how students and adults deal with this discrimination.  The meeting is free and open to the public.
