Trivia Competition, a Bake-Off, and Silent Auction with tempting offerings are all on the agenda for the American Association of University Women’s (AAUW) QUIZ-INE Local Scholarship Fundraiser.  The event, which will be held on March 21st, 4:00-7:00pm at Peace Lutheran Church, benefits scholarships to local women graduating from high school or community college as well as re-entering school after a hiatus.  Since 1946, AAUW Nevada County Branch has awarded more than 300 scholarships.

The QUIZ-INE Trivia Competition will include three rounds of questions, covering a range of topics including the Olympics, local Nevada County history, Food, Pop Culture, and Golden Oldies Music.  Guests can form teams to compete for the honors and the Lazy Dog chocolate trophies. Breaks between rounds allow Trivia contestants to sample and vote for their favorite Bake-Off items by local baking enthusiasts.  Plus, they can browse and bid on the silent auction, large and small, local and far-flung.

Attendees also will enjoy hearty appetizers from Emily’s Catering, assisted by students from the Nevada Union Culinary Arts Program, and wine/beverages.

QUIZ-INE is sponsored by YubaNet.com and Brian Hollister, State Farm Insurance.
