Nevada County, CA – Gina Will the Assistant Auditor-Controller announces her candidacy to run for the vacant seat of Nevada County Auditor-Controller in the June 7 statewide primary election.
Will has over 25 years of accounting and financial management experience. She has served as Assistant Auditor-Controller for Nevada County since July 2020. The prior twelve years, she was the Finance Director/Treasurer for the Town of Paradise. Will helped develop and implement the Town’s financial recovery plan after the Camp Fire, the most destructive wildfire in California State history. Prior to Paradise, she was the Chief Financial Officer for the reputable public education consulting firm School Services of California for thirteen years. Will has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
The Auditor-Controller is the chief accounting officer of the County establishing the accounting policies and procedures that safeguard taxpayer assets. The office is also charged with coordinating the independent audit of the County’s annual comprehensive financial statements. Will’s vast experience in government accounting, leadership, and education make her uniquely qualified for the position of Auditor-Controller.
Four term Auditor-Controller Marcia Salter will be retiring at the end of the year and will not run for re-election. Will is honored to have the support and encouragement of Auditor-Controller Salter:
