The exhibition showcases works by talented local artists who have translated their passion for music into visual expression, offering their unique perspective on music appreciation through various artistic mediums.
“Our songs have long been my favorite of Nevada City’s many exports. The music of our songwriters and performers has traveled far beyond our area to be enjoyed by people all over the world,” said Nevada City Mayor Adam Kline. “This exhibit provides an opportunity for some of our most gifted visual artists to celebrate our local music scene and the musicians who’ve been instrumental (I’m so sorry) in making it happen for all these years. I’m hoping we’ll have a packed house for the opening reception.”

The community is invited to a free, public evening of art and conversation, with light refreshments provided. “The Year of Advanced Music Appreciation” exhibition will be on display following the opening reception during regular City Hall business hours through May 2026.
The CHAMP Gallery is part of a broader public art initiative established in 2023 under Nevada City’s Strategic Plan for Vibrancy. The City Council established the Nevada City Public Arts Commission to expand access to art throughout the community, fostering creativity and civic engagement.
