The City of Nevada City announces that the filing period for the Declaration of Candidacy and Nomination Papers for the upcoming City primary election set for June 2, 2026, will open on February 9 and close March 6. Two City Council seats are up for election.
Anyone wishing to run for these seats is required to schedule an appointment with the City’s Deputy City Clerk to obtain the required candidate filing packets. To schedule an appointment, please call (530) 265-2496, ext. 104. Appointments will be held at Nevada City Hall, located at 317 Broad Street.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to schedule their appointments early to allow sufficient time to complete the filing process prior to the deadline.
