Community Beyond Violence (CBV), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking, is thrilled to announce the launch of its transformative Community Wellness Program. This initiative aims to provide free and low-barrier health services to past and current clients and anyone in the community affected by interpersonal violence, recognizing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking as critical public health issues that impact every community member, directly or indirectly.

Addressing Holistic Needs for Lasting Healing:

The Community Wellness Program marks a significant step forward in CBV’s mission to empower survivors by addressing their comprehensive health and well-being. We understand that the impact of violence extends beyond physical injuries, significantly affecting survivors’ mental, emotional, financial, and social well-being. Through this innovative program, we seek to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters healing and empowerment for all survivors.

Critical Components of the Community Wellness Program:

Comprehensive Health Services: CBV will offer various free and low-cost health services in collaboration with public health institutions and dedicated service providers. These services may include preventative and acute medical check-ups, mental health counseling, reproductive health care, massage therapy, oral hygiene support, and more. By breaking down barriers to these services, such as cost and transportation, we will ensure access to the care survivors need to recover and rebuild their lives.

Educational Classes and Trainings: The program will feature empowering classes and trainings besides health services. These sessions will cover various topics, including nutrition and food preparation, harm reduction training, financial planning, self-defense, and more. By equipping survivors with practical skills and knowledge, we aim to bolster their self-sufficiency and create a pathway to a brighter future.

Collaborating for Community Well-being: CBV will actively partner with public health institutions and local service providers to address the diverse needs of our community. By pooling resources and expertise, we aim to build a support network that uplifts survivors and the broader community.
