PLACER/NEVADA COUNTIES – Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) and State Route 20 (SR 20) as several projects continue in Placer and Nevada counties.

Here is the breakdown for next week:
SR 20 Projects:
- Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Dow Road and Ridgewood Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled around the clock from 6 p.m. Monday, June 22 through noon Friday, June 26 for paving operations. No work is scheduled over the weekend. Construction will resume the following week starting at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 28.
- Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project
- One-way traffic control is scheduled at the junction with Interstate 80 (I-80) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21 through Saturday, June 27. During operations traffic may be held for up to 30 minutes.
- SR 20 on-ramp to westbound I-80 remains closed until further notice due to bridge construction activities.


SR 49 Projects:
- Sidewalk Gap Closure Project
- Northbound between Education Street and Dry Creek Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21 to 7 a.m. Monday, June 22 and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, June 26.
- Southbound between Luther Road and Elm/Fulweiler Avenue, various lane closures are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, June 21 through Thursday, June 25. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 7 a.m. Friday, June 26.
- Corridor Improvement Project between McKnight Way and La Barr Meadows/Allison Ranch Road, one-way traffic control is scheduled from 8 p.m. Sunday, June 21 to 6 a.m. Monday, June 22 and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, June 22 through Thursday, June 25. One-way traffic control will end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, June 26.
The extended lane closures will help minimize the duration of the work and improve worker safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
