Grass Valley, Calif. — Nevada County residents can swap out used motor oil filters for new ones during the county’s Oil Filter Exchange event.

Residents who bring in a used oil filter will receive a $15 voucher toward the purchase of a new filter. Exchanges and purchases must be completed during the same visit. Each resident may recycle up to two used filters, while supplies last.

A limited number of free oil change kits — including a funnel, oil pan and jug — will also be available, one per household.

The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at O’Reilly Auto Parts, 742 Freeman Lane, next to Raley’s.

Another Oil Filter Exchange Event is already scheduled for May 16, giving residents an additional opportunity to recycle used filters safely and responsibly.

The event is funded through CalRecycle’s Oil Payment Program Grant, which supports local governments in expanding oil recycling efforts.
