The Nevada County Elections Office has processed an additional 11,546 ballots since the last update on election night. With 45,326 ballots tabulated, voter turnout is at 58.12% so far. The remaining 6,292 ballots and 210 ballots left to be cured by voters will be processed during the remainder of the canvass period.

According to the Elections Office, “Our first Unprocessed Ballot Report from November 6 did not include ~4,000 vote by mail ballots due to an error in calculation of in-person ballots report vs. vote by mail ballots report.  For the updated 2nd report, we have resolved the error.”

As of Friday afternoon, Prop. 50 passes in Nevada County with 24,466 Yes votes (54.04%) vs 20,809 No votes (45.96%.)

The next update is slated for Wednesday afternoon due to the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday.

Measure G

Measure G to fund a new, state-of-the-art Truckee Library passes both in Nevada and Placer counties by a comfortable margin. In Nevada County 4,631 Yes votes (71.19%) vs 1,874 No votes (28.81%) and 600 Yes votes (74.53%) vs 205 No votes (25.47%) in Placer County.

“The successful passing of Measure G is the first pillar of a fiscally responsible funding model: 57% of construction costs will be covered by private donors and grants, with taxpayers contributing just 43% through a modest parcel tax of 3C per building square foot or $29 for vacant lots. This intentional balance ensures broad community benefit while minimizing local cost and maximizing outside investment,” said Ryan Parrish, Campaign Chair for Vote Yes on Measure G.
