John and Lucile Templeton, Hospice of the Foothills supporters, have exemplified the spirit of generosity and philanthropy. Marthellen Fletcher, Lucile’s sister, shared that Lucile (or Lu as she was known) and John “shared a great love and a marriage based on trust, respect, and appreciation, and Their caring generosity of spirit was shared on many occasions with family and friends”. That generosity will now affect our community in a beautiful way for years to come. Their remarkable estate gift not only reflects their dedication to our organization but also serves as a testament to their belief in the importance of compassionate care for all individuals in Western Nevada County.

“We are deeply grateful to the Templetons for their extraordinary generosity and unwavering support,” said David Franco, Board President at Hospice of the Foothills. “Their legacy will have a profound and lasting impact on our organization and Nevada County community.  We know that nonprofits in it for the long haul have the greatest impact on their communities.”

Legacy gifts such as this play a pivotal role in enabling Hospice of the Foothills to address the pressing needs of our community with precision and purpose. As each legacy gift is gratefully received, the Hospice of the Foothills Board of Directors makes strategic decisions that fund vital programs for community needs such as the newly launched Sierra Community Palliative Care Program and Caregiver Grant program.
