March 19, 2019 – The San Juan Ridge Taxpayers Association (SJRTA) will hold its annual membership meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 24 at the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center.

While SJRTA continues to be involved in community meetings and discussions of alternative uses of the San Juan Ridge Mine property in the North Columbia Diggings, making the Ridge more fire safe has also become a priority for the organization. To that end, Pat Leach will talk about “How to Become a Firewise Community,” and fire scientist Jo Ann Fites will speak about roadside fuels, fire behavior and evacuation in the event of a fire.

Also on the agenda are updates on SJRTA activity, and election of board members. While the event is free and open to all, only voting members may participate in the election. Members may join or renew their membership at the door. Light refreshments will be available.
