Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R) and contender Jessica Morse (D) were sent invitations last week. A response has been requested by August 19.

The proposed forum will be held at the Community Services Hall at 1021 Harvard Way, El Dorado Hills, CA. at a mutual date to be selected by the candidates. The public will be invited to attend in person. The forum will also be recorded for viewing on demand. Questions will be solicited from the community in advance and reviewed by the League of Women Voters for consolidation, relevance, fairness, and to ensure they are applicable to both candidates.

โ€œCandidate forums are a job interview of sorts, providing critical opportunities for the more than 350,000 voters of District 3 to see in person the candidates seeking their precious votes,โ€ said Jan Bedayn, co-president of the League of Women Voters of Nevada County and organizer of the collaboration. โ€œCandidates are given the opportunity to introduce themselves and their ideas in a neutral format, and voters are able to ask questions about important issues in their communities to determine who the best person is for the job. A win win. We look forward to providing this service to the voters.โ€
