April 26, 2019 – Gold Country Kiwanis will be hosting the Annual World Tai Chi and Qigong Day on Saturday, April 27th from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Training Zone, 722 Freeman Lane, Suite B, Grass Valley. This year’s theme is “One World, One Breath.” This global event is organized annually in over 100 cities and 80 nations worldwide. The purpose is to educate millions around the planet about Tai Chi & Qigong health benefits; celebrate personal and global health and healing; how to find local classes and how to get the most from those classes. World Tai Chi & Qigong Day was founded by Bill and Angela Wong Douglas.

Harvard Health Publication calls Tai Chi “moving meditation”. It has proven that Tai Chi and Qigong can boost your immune functions, increase brain activity, reduce depression, improve balance, dexterity, lower blood pressure and can help improve sleep and many other health issues.

The day will start with two Qigong classes, then around 10:30 there will be Taiko Drumming followed by Tai Chi and the Body Balance Kung Fu Kids. Free massages will be offered by Jaya Body & Soul

Coffee, juice, bagels, fruit, hard boiled eggs and donuts will be provided. Donations are welcome. All proceeds will go to benefit the children in our community.
