Nevada City, CA— Feb. 13, 2026 — Nevada County residents are invited to Hearts on Fire!, a one-night celebration of wildfire resilience-inspired art, culture, and community co-hosted by the Wildfire-Ready Coalition of Nevada County and Nevada City OES. The immersive evening is 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, with an optional Italian dinner available for an affordable $25 in advance — perfect for a fun date night while supporting local wildfire-preparedness efforts.

Wildfire Resilience-Inspired Art
More than 40 artworks will be displayed in a gallery-style exhibit inspired by wildfire resilience themes including preparedness, community strength, renewal after fire, and learning to live with fire. It is a one-evening exhibit.

Featured artists include Jennifer Rain Crosby, Mira Clark, Robyn Martin, Karle DeProsse, Inge Ivens, and Valerie Birkhoff. A full list of participating artists is available on the event website. Select pieces of the displayed art will be for sale.

A special cultural fire showcase will feature the California Heritage: Indigenous Research Project (CHIRP) and the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan highlighting Indigenous fire stewardship, alongside live glass-blowing demonstrations.
Music and Inspiration
Guests will enjoy live music by local Nevada City band Three Times Through, along with talks from Shelly Covert and Saxon Thomas of the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan and fire ecologist Jo Ann Fites-Kaufman on why living with fire is essential for Sierra Nevada communities.
Italian Dinner and Live Auction
The event is also a fundraiser for community wildfire readiness programs by the Wildfire-Ready Coalition of Nevada County. An Italian buffet will be available for purchase. There are a limited number of meal tickets. Get them before sales end Monday, Feb. 9 at 8 a.m. The menu includes meat and vegetarian lasagna, salad, bread, desserts, and a vegan/gluten-free option. The Miners Foundry Bar will be open.
A live auction will feature standout items such as a limited-edition Andy Warhol print of Superman blowing out a wildfire, hand-blown glass, a prescribed-fire package, a $500 home-hardening gift certificate from Home Hardening Solutions, and select pieces of the art on display.
