AUBURN, Calif. — Placer County is inviting input on the draft 2026 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The comment period opened March 23 and runs through April 21.
The plan covers Placer County, the cities of Auburn, Colfax, Lincoln and Rocklin, the Town of Loomis, and 30 special districts.
Updated on a five-year cycle, it is required to maintain the countyโs eligibility for Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants.
The plan assesses the countyโs exposure to natural hazards, profiles their potential consequences, identifies assets at risk and estimates potential losses. It also outlines a prioritized strategy of actions designed to reduce those losses and strengthen community resilience.
Development of the plan was a collaborative effort involving county departments, community-based organizations, technical experts and state and federal agencies.
