PLACER COUNTY – Caltrans is reminding motorists of various lane closures in multiple locations along State Route 49 (SR 49) as several improvement projects continue in Placer County.


Here is the breakdown for the week:
Sidewalk Gap Closure Project
- Southbound between Dry Creek Road and Bell Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, November 2 through Thursday, November 6. Work is scheduled to end for the week by 7 a.m. Friday, November 7.
- Southbound between Luther Road and Edgewood Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, November 2 through Thursday, November 6. Work is scheduled to end for the week by 6:30 a.m. Friday, November 7.
Safety Barrier Project
- Northbound between Lorenson Road/Florence Lane and Lone Star Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 7.
- Southbound between Lone Star Road and Lorenson Road/Florence Lane, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 7.
American River Canyon Roundabout Project
- Southbound at the intersection with Lincoln Way/Borland Avenue, lane reduction is scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 7 and from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 8.
The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. Motorists may experience delays between 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic volumes. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events.
Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
