Grass Valley, CA — Indivisible Nevada County and Nevada County Democrats will host the “No Kings 3” Mass Protest on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Brunswick/Sutton in Grass Valley. The event is part of a nationwide day of action bringing communities together to defend democratic institutions and reject authoritarianism.

Organizers say the demonstration is part of a growing national movement responding to escalating concerns about threats to democratic norms, civil liberties, and economic stability.

“We are showing up together again on March 28th,” organizers with Indivisible Nevada County said. “When our families are under attack and rising costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. America does not belong to strongmen, greedy billionaires, or those who rule through fear. It belongs to us — the people.”

The protest follows recent statements from President Donald Trump suggesting he may seek an unconstitutional third presidential term. Organizers say the event is intended to reaffirm a foundational principle of American democracy: the United States does not have kings.

“This moment is bigger than political disagreement,” organizers said. “Across the country we are seeing actions that raise serious concerns — defiance of court rulings, aggressive immigration enforcement tactics, and policies that cut essential services while benefiting powerful elites. Communities everywhere are speaking out.”

The No Kings demonstrations build on a year of nationwide nonviolent protests. In 2025, millions of Americans participated in coordinated demonstrations organized by pro-democracy groups calling attention to concerns about government overreach and threats to civil rights. In Nevada County, the last No Kings demonstration on October 18, 2025 drew a record turnout of approximately 3,500 people, making it one of the largest political gatherings in the county in recent years.

“America’s history includes painful chapters of injustice,” organizers said. “But it also shows that people-powered movements are how we confront injustice and protect democracy.”

Organizers emphasize that the March 28th protest will be peaceful, community-driven, and open to anyone concerned about the direction of the country.

“Our movement is grounded in lawful, nonviolent action,” organizers said. “Each time people come together in community, we remind the nation — and the world — that people power is how democracy is protected.”

Event organizers say similar demonstrations will take place in cities and small towns across the United States on the same day.

“We’re standing together against abuses of power, cruelty, and corruption,” organizers said. “On March 28, we gather to remind those in power: America has no kings.”
