The film, by Rick Aeschliman, “Into the Sierra: Six Photographers Explore the Eastern Sierra Wilderness”, will be shown at the Nevada County Camera Club on Monday, January 26.

This 30-minute film features the works of award winning photographers including Aeschliman, John Seivert, Georges Pelpel, Brion Dunbar, Chris Schiller and Eric Engles and captures the astounding beauty of the Eastern Sierra with stunning landscape images. Aeschliman conceived, planned and produced the film and assembled the team of photographers.

The film highlights early-morning and late-evening light, the Milky Way, moonrise and untamed wilderness as powerful themes explored for still landscapes, video, time-lapse, drone footage and astrophotography. “Our hope is to bring the wonders of the remote wilderness to the general public, encouraging a new generation to appreciate and protect it,” stated Aeschliman.

In addition to presenting the film and their vision, the team will lead a discussion on wilderness trip planning including: photography gear recommendations and using “mule assist” to carry the bulk of the pack weight to the destination.
During the second half of the meeting, camera club members will showcase their photos for critique. Categories for submitted photos include: Black and White; Color; Natural Landscapes; Flora; Fauna, Birds; Travel; Night Photography; Photojournalism; People; Manipulated but Realistic; Creative; and Street Photography.
