NEVADA CITY, Calif. February 8, 2024 – After 5 years as General Manager at KVMR, I am returning to Colorado to be with my family. I will miss this incredibly dedicated and passionate group of staff and volunteers and this beautiful spot we live in. KVMR is protected and nurtured in a remarkable way by this community and it is not only a lifeline to people during emergencies, but also with the sense of community and kindness it generates on the airwaves. It is the best of what community radio can be and I feel so privileged to have been a part of it.

In my 5 years at this station, we initiated a nationally recognized public safety and emergency training program and worked with the KVMR Board to pay off over 300k on our building project.

One of my proudest accomplishments is the work I have done bringing in the next generation of radio makers and leaders. Along with the stellar KVMR staff, we developed a thriving intern program, a youth news corps, and new-music discovery station KVMRx. Now, when you walk in the door at KVMR, you are greeted by new faces working on creative projects, hosting events and radio shows, creating their own social media campaigns and engaging our community and volunteers with new music, art and perspectives.

As I return to Colorado to care for a family member, I’m grateful to the KVMR community for welcoming me and giving me the opportunity. My time as General Manager at KVMR ends February 29, 2024.
