The festive 2024 Latin GRAMMYs took place in Miami on November 14, honoring the year’s best Spanish- and Portuguese-language artists in categories ranging from traditional regional music to the latest dance trends. And, in an annual tradition that began with the 2021 Latin GRAMMYs, KVMR “South of the Border” DJ John Watson will showcase the best of the 2024 nominees and winners this Monday morning, November 25.

“These annual Latin GRAMMY round-up shows provide revealing windows into the latest trends in music from Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean,” John explains.
“On the 25th, we’ll hear everything from the contemplative ‘Oh Felicidad’ from Cuban singer Yeisy Rojas, nominated for Best Traditional Tropical Album Award, to the danceable ‘Perro Negro’ from Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny, winner of the Best Reggaetón Performance Award, to the heartfelt “Crecer” from Colombian newcomer Ela Taubert, winner of the Best New Artist Award.”

Because the 2024 Latin GRAMMY eligibility period is June 2023 through May 2024, it’s a good bet that this episode of South of the Border will mark the KVMR premiere of most of these songs.
So tune in to “South of the Border,” KVMR-FM 89.5, KVMR.org, November 25, 10 a.m.-noon, for a strong dose of Latin GRAMMY flavor!
