Nevada County, CA — As the June 2 Primary approaches, the League of Women Voters of Nevada County has launched Your Vote — Your Future, a comprehensive voter outreach and fundraising campaign aimed at ensuring all voters have access to clear, nonpartisan election information.
“The choices we make at the ballot box today shape the world we live in tomorrow,” said Co-President Jan Bedayn. “In a time of uncertainty and change, it is more important than ever that voters stay informed and engaged.”
To support informed voting, the League will host upcoming candidate forums in person, live online, and on demand after the forums:
- Nevada City City Council, Tuesday, April 21, 6 p.m., Rood Center, 910 Maidu Ave., Nevada City.
- State Assembly District 1, Thursday, April 23, 6 p.m., Rood Center, 910 Maidu Ave., Nevada City.
- State Insurance Commissioner, Wednesday, April 29, 5:30 p.m., a collaborative forum with California League chapters via Zoom. Register here.
- Nevada City Superintendent of Schools, Thursday, April 30, 6 p.m., Rood Center, 910 Maidu Ave., Nevada City.
- U.S. Congressional District 3, Monday, May 4, 6 p.m. Rood Center, 910 Maidu Ave., Nevada City.
Participants for each forum will be announced in the coming weeks. Community members are asked to submit questions in advance to questions@lwvnevadacounty.org by April 18.
The Your Vote — Your Future campaign includes a fundraising effort to support the League’s all-volunteer voter education work, with a goal of raising $12,000 by year’s end. To support this fundraising campaign, please go to http://lwvnevadacounty.org/donate.

The public is also invited to the League’s annual meeting on May 27, at the Madelyn Helling Library, 5–7 p.m., featuring keynote speaker Dr. Mindy Romero, founder and director of the Center for Inclusive Democracy at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy.
