Grass Valley, CA July 6, 2026 – North Star Historic Conservancy and the Nevada County Magicians Guild have partnered to host a Midsummer Festival on Saturday, July 11, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the historic grounds of North Star House, located at 12075 Auburn Road in Grass Valley.
This family-friendly community event will bring a little midsummer magic to the historic estate with live magic shows, wandering magicians, a costume parade, scavenger hunt, face painting, arts and crafts, games, food vendors, and fairy-themed activities throughout the grounds.
Guests are encouraged to dress up, explore the property, enjoy the entertainment, and take part in activities designed for all ages. Tickets are $5 per person. Proceeds from the event will be shared between North Star House and the participating magicians, helping support both ongoing restoration efforts at North Star House and local community magic programming.
The festival is part of North Star House’s ongoing effort to bring more community life to the historic estate. As restoration continues, events like this help open the property to new visitors, support preservation work, and create accessible ways for families to experience North Star House.

North Star House is a 1905 Julia Morgan-designed Arts and Crafts estate located in Grass Valley. The property is currently in active restoration that is being funded by tours, weddings, community events, and preservation work. Restoration work continues on the second floor, which is planned to become additional usable space for community programs, events, education, and future public access.
