We are thrilled to share that on Saturday, January 16th, Nevada County Public Health partnered with Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital to vaccinate 269 local healthcare workers.

COVID-19 vaccine is one of the most important tools we have to end the pandemic. An FDA-approved, no-cost vaccine will be available to everyone in Nevada County–the light at the end of this pandemic tunnel!

The State of California has developed Phases and Tiers to prioritize COVID-19 vaccination across the state. Nevada County is currently moving through these phases as vaccine becomes available. Visit Nevada County’s vaccination webpage to learn more about who is currently eligible for vaccine locally. This is being updated frequently as we are able to expand access. Nevada County Public Health expects to move in to Phase 1B, which includes people 65 and above, in early February.

Below are images captured at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s vaccination event yesterday, providing vaccine to almost 300 of our local healthcare workers. Congrats to everyone who made this event happen!
